Your Inner Circle Matters

Who you surround yourself with is who you become.

We all want success in our lives- In our relationships, in our finances, in our career.

There are very few who are able to achieve success at all, especially in all aspects of life.

Sure there are many levels of success, measured by people differently, but usually the key to getting success is to find your true purpose, and pursuing that purpose. That starts with truly learning about yourself.

Mark Cuban says;

“Don’t follow your passion, follow your efforts.”

Just because you may be passionate about something, doesn’t mean it is what you need to be doing. Perhaps your purpose lies elsewhere, and that’s what you need to put effort into.

I believe from personal experience, the most important way to help find purpose and meaning in life, and the motivation and inspiration to follow that purpose, is to surround yourself with positive, motivated people.

PROXIMITY IS POWER

Just as quickly as you will benefit from surrounding yourself with people who make you motivated and have drive, people that think narrow-minded and negative will affect you just as quickly.

I’ve always said;

“You are the sum of the people you hang around.”

If you hangout with criminals, you will probably get arrested.

Hangout with dogs, you get flees.

If you hangout with smart business people, you will most likely learn something to help you.

Examine Your Circle

It can be very uncomfortable to take a step back from relationships or individuals that are negative.

This could be longtime friendships, family members, even a spouse.

Many let this feeling consume them, which is why nothing is ever changed, and they end up just as unhappy as the unhappy people around them.

Raise Your Standards, Take Action

"What causes us to have big standards, are even bigger reasons." -Les Brown.

Force yourself to have standards on the people you chose to invest your time into.

Surround yourself with people who are a positive influence, motivational, inspirational, ambitious, and will help you get to the next level.

This applies to every work field.

Surround yourself with people who you admire, who will instill good behaviors in you that helped them achieve the success that they may have.

I’ve said for many years;

“One of the most important decisions you will ever make in life, is who you decide to spend time with.”

This is something that may not be easily accomplished, but will change your life when you figure out how to do it, but most importantly, commit to doing it, because you’ve committed to changing your life.
